Have you ever had an idea that seemed to plant itself in your soul?
Every creative knows exactly what I mean - the spark of excitement, the lingering image in your mind, the nagging character voice that won't go away, the lilting song lyrics keeping you up at night...
These are the dreams we want to stay in, and the paths we long to follow.
But how?
We live in a world that celebrates success, and casts creative pursuits into the shadow of the word "hobby". For so many of us, that lack of support becomes a death sentence to a really beautiful dream.
It was only during the pandemic, when we were all shut in our homes, that creativity found itself in a revival. Stuck at home with banana bread cooling, we gave into the need to write, to stitch, to paint - to dream again. And, like so many, now that we're getting back to whatever "normal" looks like moving forward, I find myself unwilling to allow my dreams to drift back into the shadows. I am driven to step further into the light... and, this time, I'm taking you with me!
I returned to my writing this past year in a way that I always hoped for, but never thought possible. I learned to trust my passion, and believe in my skills. And that belief in myself has carried me forward, bolstered by supportive friends, and a spark of another idea that lingers, waiting to take flame.
You see, I have another great passion: supporting other creatives. I love helping others to make their dreams a reality.
As an Editor, I love seeing the pieces of a story come together like a puzzle. I am a total nerd for grammar, and almost overly passionate about sentence variation. Also, I can spot a plot hole a mile away, which helps.
As a Creator, I know there's more to a book than words on a page. I pull from a background that includes website design, content creation for sites and social media, and virtual support, to provide packages that will help you to feel FULLY supported as you work to do the hardest of things: turn and idea into a tangible story, or a dream into reality.
I LOVE books. I love the passion and life that is breathed into them by authors, and I care so much for the bit of their soul they leave behind in the pages. I want to spend my life not only creating my own worlds, but supporting other creatives as they create theirs.
Our passions are not "hobbies", creatives. Our creative dreams are a part of us. And they deserve to be chased. You deserve it. And so do I.
So it's time, friends!
